Championship was to be held on the Bays De Noc today out of Escanaba, there was a small craft warning for the big blow going through. Heard that they canceled the championship instead of running it on Sunday, any word on why?
Sure hope it wasn't because the Packers play at 1:00 Thought that is why you run a one day tourney on a Saturday so you have a blow day. Heard they just divided up all the money to the 25 teams that were in the championship. Any participants willing to chime in on this. PS: Forecast for tomorrow is light (4mph N-NE) wind. The awards banquet is scheduled and hall rental is for the Saturday night, it's one thing to hold over a regular event from one day to the next, but the after event activities arn't flexable. Plus a Sunday hangover day is better than a Monday hangover day.

U know its one thing to question why and another thing to voice a comment or opinion on a matter that does not have anything to do with you. The circumstances for the weather on saturday were less than favorable and dimineshing from sun up on. The teams were asked the night before what they would like to do and no one. I repeat NO ONE person said a peep for a suggestion. When The thought of splitting the money and just calling it off was made all anglers were fine with it and no one person said a thing about setting restrictions/boundries. After a long year of fishing and some highs and lows for all we as the top 25 teams for the year had no problems going along with and standing by the decisions made as a group to call it off. Thank you TFM Promotions for a great year of tournament fishing and for those that have never ran the series you have no idea what kind of friendships and education you are missing out on. Thanks Jim and Ray

620- Thanks for the answer, didn't know about the banquet hall rental that is why I asked the question.
zipper619- No where in my post was there a derogatory comment, just a joke about the Packers. ALL TOURNAMENTS that come to this the area for a tournament have foul weather boundaries, that being said it would not have made a difference on this day. I never mentioned this, you did, all I asked about was Sunday and 620 provided me the answer! |

Jim and Ray, you guys and your staff do it right, and I really miss fishing your circuit as it is a first class run organization. Hope to be able to sign up for a couple next year, John Schneider.

Thank you for all the positive comments about the MWS Series. As far as Saturday and cancelling the tournament it was not an easy decisioin, but everyone was in aggreemant. There was no safe water to fish with the conditions we had Saturday. Several teams tried to fish after the tournament was cancelled and stated it was pretty ugly early and continued to get worse throughout the morning. With the banquet scheduled for Saturday we were all in aggreement that we devide the total payout twenty five ways. With this decision no one was injured no equipment was broken and all the teams could enjoy the banquet.
Thanks to the anglers and sponsors that supported the MWS this year Jim Coon |
