This is an a add on to a former post ... I noticed at the end of the year that the prop
on my merc 75...4 strk. did not spin freely in neutral ....I had a variety of opinions on here and at dealer ships ... Spoke to the lund prostaff guy here in alberta and he tells me his bigtiller 90 merc . does the same thing ( kind of rubs ) when you spin it by hand ... Coincidence or what ....If you have a big tiller , could you give it a spin.. and post the results ....Thanks DMA ... The dealer is 600 miles away . |

DMA,
PM me your email address, and I'll send you the Big Tiller installation manual, so you can confirm that your cables are correctly adjusted. HRG

You probably have done this.... but, check for line wrapped around the shaft? Pull the prop and look....

I have had the prop off and the spline drags as well
this is internal and may be line but I dont see how it could get behind that seal very easily ....DMA |

40HP 4stroke tiller:
I do not remember mine spinning like a bike wheel. As soon as I let go of it is stops so there is some drag/resistance. This is my first boat. What does spin without drag mean? nn |
