I'm in the process of moving my Terrova onto a 99 Ranger 620VS. I'm trying to size up the placement of a Minnkota MKA-21 quick release bracket on the front end. There is a slight trough (lowered area) on the starboard side of the nose where the trolling motor mounts. When I place the MKA-21 mounting block in the trough, I can't slide in the U-shaped pin into the block due to the raised area next to the trough. And in order to get the trolling motor far enough away from the boat in order to deploy, the front 2 mounting holes of the mounting block are hanging over the edge of the boat. Has anyone used this on this boat and can tell me what's the trick to getting this mounted? If, not which bracket do you use on your Ranger?
Thanks to everyone in advance. Last edited by drbrand; 12-22-2010 at 09:08 AM. |

I discovered there is no way to mount this bracket on this boat without making a mess of things. I would havve to move my navigation light socket, shim the mounted block, and have the hang the mounted block over the edge of the rubber mat on the nose. So, I'm going to have to find out what other bracket will work on this boat without it looking cobbled together.

check out mka-32 I have one on my 2008 620. works great and does not rattle. mine is mounted on a 45 degree angle to the right as viewed from drivers seat. left front edge is approx. flush with center of bow. does not look like a chop job as i am a twit about such.
