Just purchased a 2001 Northwoods Yukon 172. Don't know to much about these boats and would appreciate any info on them. Has a 90 hp 4 stroke merc carbureted. I have only had 2 stokes in the past so any advice or tips on the new merc would also be appreciated.

I would assume with that vintage Merc 4 stroke, you are looking at a mostly Yamaha sourced powerhead. Should run really well for you. Change the oil & filter every fall. Might want to check the oil level more than normal for the first year or two. Check the plugs out now, but they should run for a 2-3 years at least between changes. Always treat your fuel with Seafoam or Marine Stabil. Watch for leaks in your lower unit oil. Should run for a LONG time.
I agree on some pics, it's wintertime, let's see 'em. |

Thanks for the info. The guy I bought it from just had is serviced and gave me a copy of the receipt, plugs, changed oil and serviced the lower unit. I always try to use stabil when I fill up and before I store it. It finally warmed up so here are some pics.
