Default How do I go to lat/long coordinates with my GPS

I have a lake map with the gps coordinates of "spots" listed. How do I navigate to those coordinates using the GPS in my boat?I tried watching the numbers change on the screen as I travelled to the area but I couldn't find the spots.

you need to create a wpt on your unit first.

easiest way to figure out how to do that is look it up in your manual.

you enter the coords from your paper chart manually, then name and save it

then it will be in the units memory.

its pretty easy once you do it a few times

Bt mb,
Grab your owners manual and spend the next month for an hour every night in simulator mode.

All of the questions that ask are answered in your owners manual.

All that you need is practice.

When I say an hour a night for a month, that is what I mean. You need to be able to know every single setting on your gps, and be able to execute the settings - in the dark - so to speak.
That way, when you are in a situation, when you really need to do things right, all of your actions and settings will be automatic.

Just because you have read the manual once, you think that you know how to do it - I wonder.

The old adage about practice makes perfect is correct. Practice, practice, and you will have it in your head and it will translate directly to your finger tips.

Good navigating.
