Default NEW!Minn Kota® Endura™ C2 55 Trolling Motor

Anyone have any experience with the new C2 55 Endura TM motor? I was thinking about getting one for my 16' for trolling spinners, I always troll with the wind. How long can I expect the battery to last on a single charge?

Thanks,
Pro-V1

The 55 pound motors have a maximum amperage draw of 45 amps. To determine the run time take the amp hour rating of your dedicated trolling batter divide by two, and divide the result by 45. Since most trolling motors are group 27, and are typically rated at 160 to 180 amp hours, the run time will be about 2 hours or a little less.

I suggest that you consider the Traxxis model instead because it has the "maximizer" technology. This technology reduces battery demand directly proportional to the amount of 'throttle'. The others do not because they basically waste the power by diverting to heat coils when the throttle is less than 100 %. The maximizer will allow you to significantly extend the battery capacity when you run at less than 100%. For a transom mounted motor the Traxxis is not much more expensive and is worth it.

x2, what he said. Watch out though, Minn Kota offers the 55# Traxxis in both "SC" (speed coil) or digital maximizer versions, so watch which one you look at.

Default 24 Volt?

Would it be possible to add a battery to my system and run a 24 volt transom mount? keep in mind everything in 12 volt right now (electronics, lighting and bow mount). If so how?

sure. Just make sure that the lights and electronics are only wired to 1 battery, the 24V trolling motor will be the only item wired to the series-connected pair.

here's kind of a simplistic view of it.

That's what I will do then, since I have a 70# thrust minn kota sitting around. Maybe safer to just have the dealer wire it for me though. I don't really want to fry everything if I hook it up wrong.
