Does anyone have one of these $50 off $500 dollar purchase coupons they are not going to use? I'am looking at buying one of the refurbished units and it would be great if I had a coupon code to use. Thanks

I have a $20 off $150 that I bought off ebay and haven't used yet. Would take the same as what I paid for it, which was $3. You can search on Ebay for a $50. I also got one out of Cabelas Boating and Marine Catalog.

Looks like there is one $50 coupon for $5 on ebay right now. Also, they say coupon for $20 or $50 off. The coupon that has a $20 and $50 on it are 2 seperate codes and both can be used. It is not one or the other.

Michigan does not have a sales tax on purchases made over the internet from out-of-state vendors. The US Supreme Court ruled in the early 1990's that state sales taxes cannot be required on such purchases if the vendor has no business operations in the state. Amazon is in the news on this issue right now.

Michigan does have a use tax on such purchases, which is to be paid later on the annual state income tax return. My posts stated the price of purchases for items delivered to the buyer's door. What the buyer spends after that is the buyer's responsibility.

I don't know the statistics for use tax compliance in Michigan, but my sources indicate the use tax compliance rate in California is below 1%.

I bought an HDS7 basemap at Cabelas. Starting price was $750. Just posted the above as a reference. I used the $50 dollar off coupon, plasticjungle for 12% off (which i was kind of scared of at first) and if i get the $50 dollar rebate from lowrance the HDS-5 base unit i purchased will have cost me $414.

Except the HDS-5 Base wasn't included on the rebates, from my research?
