Now i have tried to update the gps module and my 332c head unit dosnt show the browse mmc files menu .its missing. If i go to network and select bus setup it shows lgc-2000 and no software version.the 332c head unit and gps all work yet,as well as the navionics maps. Any ideas outher than calling /e mailing lowrance ?

Here are the instructions for when I did my unit a couple of years ago.
Installation Instructions Make sure the MMC/SD card reader is properly connected to your computer (and, if necessary, that the drivers are installed). Insert an MMC/SD card with at least 2 MB of free space into the MMC/SD card reader. Click on the "Install Now" link above to go to the installation web page. Wait for the Java web installer to download and run. Follow the Lowrance update installation instructions. If you are not sure about a step, just select the default choice. When the installer finishes you will prompted to click Finish to exit. If not already, turn your Lowrance head unit off. Place the MMC/SD card containing the updated operating software in the unit's MMC/SD card slot. Make sure that your LGC-2000 is connected to your head unit and that both are powered properly. Turn your head unit on. Press the MENU button twice, press the down arrow until "Browse MMC Files..." is highlighted, and then press the ENT button. Highlight the LGC2000_v170.luf file and press the WPT button five (5) times. A progress bar should appear. Wait for the update to finish completely. Restart the head unit. I hope this helps. I still have the v1.7 and v1.9 in case you need them. JK

I and hundreds of others have had to reinstall v1.6 because 1.9 had issues with the sonar not working properly when in shallow weeds. I went back to rev 1.6 because it works better. Be cautious upgrading your lms332. I recommend keeping an old rev handy just in case you have the same problem so many others have. Lowrance will just tell you your transducer is bad which isn't necessarily the case. Sorry but these so called lowrance upgrades have cost me tons of my valuable time between both my lms 332 and my lcx25c. They never did resolve the issue with their software on these units before giving up.

With the LMS and LCX units, yes you can. With the HDS units, you cannot.

Press the Menu button twice on your display unit.
Select Network Select Bus Setup Select the LGC-2000. The software version will be displayed along with other data. If your version is not 1.9.0 software, than you will need to update the module. Warning: If you have an LGC-2000 GPS receiver/antenna connected to your unit, please update the LGC-2000 before updating the control head unit. Hope this helps. dean Last edited by deanjo68ss; 03-30-2011 at 09:07 PM. |
