Default Replacing water pump

I just replaced the water pump on my 150 optimax and was wondering how long you should wait to start it with the muffs, because of the bead of silicone i put on that keeps exhaust from entering the pump area. I started it about 20 min after laying the beed. Everything seem's fine but just want to make sure.

There should be instructions on the container of silicone sealant, including the time required for the sealant to cure. Without instruction, I'd wait 24 hours.
