Default Lake erie

The bite has been tuff. We are picking up a few here and there, It is hard to find cleaner water. Does anyone know why there are so many dead walleys flooting?

Default dead walleyes

The word is netters, both American and Canadian, are the cause. Fish appear to have ripped their gills
and throat. Last weekend reports were from north of Kelly's, Starve Island, Gem Beach, and the reef complex. A friend witnessed fish being returned from a net close to the north tip of Catawba. they were all dead the next day up against the shoreline - not a pleasant sight!

Word has it that some of the dead walleye are a result of the commercial guys not being able to get to there nets in time when the lake was rough to release the fish live & the rest died from spawning stress.

That's a sad sight Juls, but thanks for posting the pics. Hope we get a 'definitive' answer soon about the causation.

Juls, I fully understand what VHS is, My poorly worded question was asking if VHS was at all thought of to be part of this fish kill..
