Flipping sticks are normally mH or XX heavy. If so, they are likely much heavier than really needed for bobber fishing. They will work but may not be the very best rod to use.

Ya, these are some really old glass ones, I think I bought them in the early 90's, (basspro telescoping rods) the reason I thought of them is they are long and fairly limber. They've been sitting in the corner of the garage, and moved hither and yon for a really long time now. I was using one of them for a dead stick rod for awhile there.

I use the same rod that I use for float fishing for steelhead. 9' ml.
