Where should you put the weight in your boat for best performance? I run 2 sets of batteries for my trolling motor and one set is in the bow, should I have all my weight in the rear or what is best?

Walleye,
You can get a clue about weight distribution by bringing about a friend along for a boat ride. Insure that all of the folks have life jackets on. Then, when you are out on the water, do a bunch of boat tests with your friend in different places in the boat. It is much easier to move a person around than move batteries or other things around. Have him as far in the stern as possible, and then idle, do mid range and do wide open running. Then, repeat with him in the middle of the boat. Then, repeat with him in the front of the boat. When doing the testing, note the boats hole shot, whether or not you have porposiing issues. The trim range with the friend in different parts of the boat, the mid range character of the boat and the flat out speed and trim range. ------------------ I personally prefer to have all of the batteries in the stern, because of both the boats performance, as well as giving the batteries a much softer ride, than bouncing off the waves in the bow. I have a Lund 1800 Fisherman with a Yamaha F150, and a 9.9 kicker. I normally run with full gear and one other person in the boat
