I am looking for help on motor choice for 2010 Pro guide. Before I drive 3 hours to test drive one with a 115 Opti I wanted to know if anyone has this set-up. I am old enough that speed is no longer an issue for me. I am concerned about time to plane and bow lift. I want to be able to pull cranks and use main motor on days when wind is too much for Vantage. I have a 1900 pro v now and want back into a tiller. I have made mind up that this is the right boat just need right motor to go with it.
Thanks for your help |

I have a '07 2010 Pro Guide with a 150 Optimax. I'm not a speed demond either but would rather have had a 175 on it instead. I have lots of people raise their eye brows when they find out I have a 150 hp motor on the boat. It's a big boat it need that power to get it up on plane. A 115hp would be very underpowered IMO.

I have 2010 ProGuide with 175 Opti and steering hydralics. Love it! Not a go fast guy but I really like getting on plain fast. Once on plane you can back down to 3500 RPM and run 32-35 mph and fuel economy is un believeable. 175 all the way. don't buy the 115 you'll be unhappy. That boat is almost 21 foot long so it needs the power. Also on Lake Erie it is great in the waves and rough water.
