Rainy Lake Houseboats on Rainy
Voyagaire Houseboats on Crane Lake Two of my all time favorites.

Wade is spot on - I've been on both and actually liked the layout of Voyagaire on Crane better, but I like Rainy Lake for fishing.
Voyagaire on Crane connects to Sandpoint which connects to Namakan which connects to Kabetogama. We found a great spot on the East end of Namakan and had a great trip with almost no boat traffic and great scenery. We go in mid to late September (which carries a significant discount at either outfitter). Plan on 100 gallons of fuel regardless of which place you use. It's nice to have the fridge run on propane if possible, otherwise you have the noise and fuel use of the generator. Good luck and enjoy! Scott |

We have been on the Rainy Lake Houseboats, and Ebels out of Ash river but not Voyagers. Ebeles has some nice houseboats that compare to all the others but they also have some nicer boats. As always the quality of the boat is reflected in the price. The fishing on Rainy can be easier and the sites are more abundant and more private. You also have access to the Canadian side of Rainy which can be great if you get all the peperwork and proper border crossing permits ahead of time. The folks at Rainy lake houseboats can help out with all of the logistics. It is one of the most relaxing vacations we have ever taken and we go every other year. Have a great trip, and enjoy thoes grand kids!

Do the Garby's still own/operate Rainy Lake houseboats?
I haven't been there for 7-8 years, but when they ran it, it was top notch |

What lake out of the ones you have mentioned would you fish in late august for smallies and walleyes? The grandsons would have a blast with the smallies
