I've got a 1998 Skeeter 1775SC with a 150 Merc EFI and 9.9 on a hyd lift plate.
When I bought the boat it was HORRIBLE out of the hole. The prop was a stainless 4-blade 24 pitch. Changed to a 4-blade 21 pitch and it's better but still not that great. Top RPM is still only 5200 with the 21p. What kind of props are Skeeter owners using on these boats? Will dropping to a 3-blade 21p allow more RPMs and better outta the hole quickness? Have guys had to add a hydrofoil to these early Skeeters to help outta the hole and porpoising? How about just adding a couple sand tubes in the front storage to get more weight to the bow? Any and all advice appreciated. |

Sounds like you need a 19P. Three and four blade stainless props will run similar rpms however there will be a difference in rpms between props depending how aggresive the cup and rake angle is. I cann't imagine how bad it was with a 24P prop? It must have had a heck of time getting on plane.
