Default Mille Lacs Lake - Weekend Outlook 8-19-2011

Hi

The walleye bite on Mille Lacs is spotty this week - the evening has provided the best action with a leech/slip bobber. We're still having some success running spinners/crawlers during the daytime hours too. 4-mile gravel, Highway Bar and the Boot are each worth a look. You'll notice a significant change in the bite from where it was just a few weeks back. Muskie action is concentrated on the deep edges of the weed beds in 11-14 feet. Double bucktails and top-waters are turning most of the fish right now. Early morning and late evening are the best times. Northern are active in Wahkon and Rolands Bay... big suckers under a bobber have been the ticket here.

Yes, we still have leeches!

Surface temps are still in the low-70's.
