Default Ranger 1860 Angler vs Skeeter WX 1900

Hello guys and gals. I'm new to this forum and was hoping to hear from some of you that may own either of these boats. How do you like them? Also, if anyone has ridden in both of these models, how did they compare in ride, storage, etc. I've seen several of the 1860 Anglers on the water and the guys I've talked to that own them really love them. However, a fairly local dealer has a WX 1900 for sale and it's a beautiful boat and looks like it'd be a great fishing boat and good family boat as well. Any information you can give me will be greatly appreciated - thanks!

Both really nice boats for sure. I have the 1860 and prefer it to the wx1900 because
The rod locker on the 1860 is much bigger and will also hold my 8' rods with no fuss.
The 1860's storage is better IE- port side stern storage compartment will hold a lot of big Plano boxes. And I liked the bigger bow deck on the 1860. The Skeeter has a few advantages, if you troll more than cast or jig, the cockpit on the Skeeter is bigger. The Skeeter is rated for 200HP vs the 175 of the 1860. (I really don't see the point, my 1860 will hit 50mph with an F150 three adults and a full load)but if you run huge loads that could be a deciding issue. The Skeeter has a standard tandem trailer vs the single axle of the 1860. I prefer the single, most people seem to prefer a tandem. If you are going to hang a V6 on the Skeeter, you probably need a tandem. You have a couple good choices there.

Based on all the reviews from Ranger owners and my experiene with the Skeeter, I think you'd be very happy with either boat. I own the 1850, which is very similar to the 1900 Skeeter. If it were stolen tomorrow, I'd buy the same boat all over again. There is nothing that I don't like about my boat. Almost all of my fishing is walleye fishing on big water - no regrets. Good luck with your decision.

Default 1860 vs 1900

I have had my wx1900 full windshield with 200 Yamaha HPDI & T-8 for over a year now and love it. Previously I owned a 97 Ranger Bass Boat and a 03 Walleye DV. I feel much safer in big water and the tandem trailer is much safer to pull. 1900 has a bait well up front, 2 live wells in back, a nice rod locker and plenty of storage up front and on the side. As far as long pole storage the left side compartment can hold at least a couple of 8 1/2 or more trolling rods.

The 200 2 stroke Yamaha HPDI pops the 1900 right out of the water. Ranger makes a good boat and so does Skeeter. I like my Skeeter.

Default 1860

I have a 2008 1860 and love it, I did look at the skeeter and it look like a very nice boat but went with the ranger and do not regret it.

Both great boats I would look at the dealer that will be easy to access and provide the best service.

I looked at both as well when I was boat shopping. There is a Skeeter WX1850 in my garage.

I love my wx1900 and couldn't be ne happier with my decision. I've got plenty of storage can fit all of my rods in the locker, heck if I empty the storage in the bow I can fit inside it (6'3 215 pnds) lol.most people don't like the jump seats but I love them cuz if u wanna load 4 ppl in the boat to go fishing u don't have to worry bout 4 pedestal seats in the way all day long. As far as performance, out of the hole its great I fish a lot of tournaments and take almost everybody off the line, I can get about 53 mph on wot with factory 21 pitch yamaha prop in all the tourneys this year with a shotgun start I've always been in the top 5 boats heading down the lake. Don't think I've got one bad thing to say about it except the dealership I bought it from.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate all of your comments. How do you think that WX 1900 would run with a 200 Yamaha 4 stroke on it?
