I admit I have not always been as safe as I should have been climbing in and out of trees. So this year I've decided to invest in a good harness and would like to know if any one brand or model is significantly better than another. Things that are important to me in the design of this harness are as follows:
1. easy on and off 2. easy adjustability for when you add bulky clothes 3. comfortable to wear Appreciate any iput. |

i believe the name of mine is a hunter safety system. normally about 100 bucks
i have a few of them as i tend to pick them up when they go on sale and i leave them hooked to the tree as they are easy enough to slip into when i get into my stand. most of your bigger name stores like scheels, cabelas, and bass pro shops will have a demo harness to try on and see if you like it.

I have a summit seat o the pants harness. But I want to get a tree spider harness. It is super simple. Easy to adjust, on and off, and lite.

Love my vest and it is reversible to orange for the gun seasons in Ohio. I suggest gitting one size larger to go over heavier clothes. It is adjustible and very easy to put on. Put it on like a coat and snap the buckles together.

My harness connects to tree via a short strap on the back. If my stand were to actually fall I would be hanging back to tree and wonder if I could even escape. Thougths??

Not sure how much upper body strength you have to turn yourself around or not. Might do a trial run in back yard with helper and step ladder to see just what you are capable of. If you can not "right yourself", you may want to stay on ground or hunt where you can call someone to bring a ladder.
Remember those old Baker Tree stands and hugging the tree to climb, whew!! |

Unless you hunt from an open stand and/or require the harness to lean out I question the need for one once in your stand. Your not going to fall then. You fall climbing in and out or on the way up or down.
The correct tool would be a safety line all the way up and down the tree. I know they sell them now because by brother uses one. |
