Hi all,
Kaydella here, from NJ. I'm new on this site, so, greetings to all. During river fishing recently on the upper Delaware river, I caught (by surprise) a 24" catfish. I didn't have a scale to weigh it. Anybody out there give me an idea how much it may have weighed? Tanks K |

Cool, I'll bet that was a nice fight. Hard to guess without seeing a picture or knowing the species but probably 4 lbs would be my guess.

had a lot of fun bringing in a big cat -- 31 inches. Using an old De-Liar it weighed 14 or 15 lbs. Maybe you could set up a proportion for an approxamation!

Man, it's been a while since my original post about the catfish question. I found later it was a 7 lb cat. I bumped into a friend on the river who I haven't seen in 20 years. Even stranger, he happened to have caught a 24" cat as well. He had a scale weighing it in at 7 lbs. Therefore I can be pretty sure mine was about the same weight.
I hope you guys who responded to my oroiginal post will see this post. Let me know!! Cheers! |
