Default Looking for a smaller walleye lake in MN

Anyone know of a good walleye lake in central minnesota? My wife and kids want to go next summer somewhere for a long weekend. We live in southern Minnesota and they don't want to spend all day in the car so I was thinking something in that Brainerd area or so. Anyone have a good lake with a nice family resort? Thanks!

Default Park Rapids, MN

Would Park Rapids be too far for a weekend retreat?

My wife's family has been going to Bottle Lake on the Mantrap chain of lakes for a long time. We stay at Home Bay Resort and absolutely love it up there.

If you want more info, let me know!!

Default Smaller walleye lakes

You could try Knife lake north of Mora, Farm Island west of Garrison, Long near Brainerd. Check with Koep's bait in Nisswa, they can recommend a few and could hook up a guide as well.

Check out the Alexandria, MN area lakes. Many great smaller walleye lakes within a 15 minute drive.

Tryi Otter Tail County (fergus Falls Area) Otter Tail Lake is the best lake in the county but there are 1,300 lakes in the county. Otter Tail is quite large though.

Thanks for the info. I went on the Explore Minnesota website and signed up with them to get some information from that area. Boy did I get a lot of resort information. Now I need to sift through it to find something. Looks like a winter project!

Default Might Want To Take A Look At Osakis Lake

I would recommend taking a look at Osakis Lake. It was pretty good for walleyes and pan fish this last summer and should be even better next summer. Just do a search for Osakis Lake. One of my favorites. if you need further info.? Just send me a message here.
