Not a big bull-but a bull regardless. Great time hunting this past fall in Colorado.

Actually it was a pretty tough year. Our season was abnormally warm which delayed the rut and kept most of the deer in their beds during daylight hours. We also had a harsh winter last year which took its toll on the deer population too. I didn't post a picture of my Alberta deer, but I also managed to take a 140 class whitetail the evening before my brother shot his buck (within 400 yards of each other) so all things considered, we made out okay. Here are some nice up and commers I have pictures of in Saskatchewan that I will be after next year. I also threw in a pic of my 2010 Saskatchewan Whitetail. All of these Sask deer are within 1/4 mile of each other

I love that 2011 buck. His rack is like a shelf. Comes out of the top and then straight to the sides. Both good looking deer.
Congrats. I think you are going to start to see more deer in the magazines coming from South Dakota in the next 5-10 years. We are practicing some great game management in some areas here and have seen the bennies. My brother tells me of a buck they were hunting this year. Buddy owns a piece of ground and strictly managed. Mostly bow hunting only except for the owner and a select friend. They were bow hunting and waiting in a shed for the wind to die down a little to go accross to the stand 200 yards out. When it finally did he stepped out to go and the deer were just starting in to the field so he had to sit and watch. The owner has had many deer come of the ground in the 170-180 range and put a 200+ typical mark on this buck. He had to sit and watch as the buck filtered past the stand he was supposed to be in at just 15 yards. Cant wait till next year. To do it all over again. For now will have to feed the family more fish. ![]() Bill |
