Jinx,
You make no sense? You had the boat you liked so much, but sold it because of rock chips that you knew were there when you "stole it"? Now you are whining about finding another boat cause you just had to sell your dream boat for whatever reason? Or, your just kicking yourself because you can't find another person to sell you one for that cheap again?? Man, I wish I had your time to buy and sell boats, fish 5 times a week, work overtime to pay for things and be on W/C whining about it all.........WOW!!!

by the way, look on the classifieds, there are a couple of deals on Reatas. The older boats are coming down, unless $23 grand is out of your price range???

I'm guessing it's the kick of searching and dreaming of a different boat that keeps Jinx coming back for more.

I personally would not have sold a Ranger just to buy one 2 years newer. But to each his own I guess. :fishhit: The rock chips, oh the humanity...

I do hope you find a good one out there.

I know to a lot of you spending this kind of money is no big deal..but to me...a single divorced guy who got hosed and is just trying to hang on it is.[/quote]

I am not your finance manager but it sounds to me like another boat should be further down your priority list.

I don't know man, I couldn't live without my boat and if I couldn't afford the 621 I would be doing everything in my power to get a leg up on a nice Ranger and if I got hosed and was getting hosed making money on a boat purchase just might not be a bad idea. Fishing isn't a hobby it's a lifestlyle.

But knowing the guys history on here and the fact that he already had the Ranger, and probably sold it to make a little money since he stole it originally and now whining that he can't find another one is a different story......

LOL I never said I can't afford it... but i'm not willing to pay top dollar...which seems to be around $25,000.00 I just am looking for the right deal. I've found one obviously just making sure it's the best deal i can get.

I appreciate, as always, all of your help. I can take the abuse...it's cool. It's part of the fun.

The rock chips didn't bother me at all...never said they did. I made $4500.00 profit on that boat which allows me to get another one newer and in better shape. I'm working my way up towards the boat of my dreams to be a keeper.

The 621vs, although amazing, isn't for me as I don't like the back bunks that take up so much room. The Reata 2050 RS is my dream boat w a 225 and 15hp kicker and Terrova...but until that day arrives...the 1850 is a very close second. :boxing:

Well, good luck with your search! BTW, I wouldn't even dream of selling my boat for anywhere near 25 grand!!! I am sure you will find one though.

NADA average retail, Boat: 21500 plus 8740 for motor.
This is the lowest price you will probably see this boat sell for.
I spoke to a Boat dealer about pricing. Just like a car dealer. You do not get Jack for extra seats, electronics etc.. Boat and Motor only. The trailer doesn't count. It comes with the boat and is included in boat value.
A Kicker is added to overal price.

i went way more then my orginal buying price to purchase my boat ( 2012 ranger reata 1850 rs) but i did alot of researching and looked at many other types of boats aswell but putting everything together in perspective i didnt want to be disapointed or have any regrets later down the road ive find that in most scenarios that when buying something expensive its better even if you have to spend more to be totally happy with what you have bought . i know for me this boat will be my keeper for a very long time , rather then buying something not quite what you wanted and then having regrets and thinking you made a mistake or having to sell it and then buying something else , mind you if its finacial issue i totally understand and you got to do what you got to do but sometimes you think you saving a dollar well end up costing you more in long run , just my two cents hope that helps

Jinx,
I believe - but should check - that a manual t8 can be converted to electric start.
