With YarCraft....nothing with the hulls. Interior layout/design, fit and finish...huge improvements.

If the new owners really want to make an improvement get the wood out of the Boat Warrior was one of the few fibeglass boats with a wood transom . The last one I had (1997) did not have a seal between the transom and the wood it cost me $3500 to have it replaced due to manufactuering error ,and a reluctance on the part of the owner to get with the times . When I took it to another shop to be fixed ( because the former owner would not fix it) there were three other Warriors there for the same fix .I inquired in later years if the wood in the transom was still there I was told it was never changed by the owners son and son inlaw on several occasions . It was a great boat ,nice ride ,easy to fish out of . I never bought another one due to the Owners reluctance to fix my boat and the wood never being replaced with a compositein the new Boats , as almost all other manufactuers have done. I am looking again for a boat and would consider Warrior if all of the wood was gone.

My thoughts exactly. Yar-Craft is a trolling boat and needs a jigger/rigger version. Bass Cat makes a 20' Cougar and Puma and the only difference is the top cap. I hope they do the same with Yar-Craft for a trolling and jigging/rigging 20' boat. The hulls are great but a little less freeboard would be nice on some models. |

I've had both. I like the Yar-Craft better. It is better rigged for tourney fishing. The Warrior was more of a weekend warrior boat. My biggest complaint with the Warrior was that it had wood in it. I hope they change it as well. Both boats ride well.

I should also add, I really tike the cap of the 209 TFX. I don't like the horse shoe in Rangers. The new 620's are a vast improvement over previous models, but it still eats up a lot of room. The two things I'd change is make collapsable seats in the rear like in the Ranger Reata and have a lip on the bow with a cargo net like a Pro-V. That would open up the back a little more and things that get wet like drift socks and rope will be out of the way and not in dry storage.

Auggie, I also like the 209 and agree it would be great if they could make some kindof cubby's in the bow area. My old storm had indents in that area that Yarcraft called foot lockers. They were a nice use of otherwise wasted space.
I also liked the folding door between both consoles to block the wind on those cold fall mornings and the small compartments/baitwell in the rear gunnels. They were great for one scoop of minnows and/or leeches. While we are dreaming, could the do something to pretty up the consoles and make them look more purposeful than a straight drop with an access port? They seem unfinished to me. With Triton discontinuing the 202X I can see myself going back to YarCraft! |

If Warrior is smart...they'll make their boats MUCH wider like Ranger and most others do. A 101" beam is what they should be shooting for IMHO

Yar-Craft 1785T and 2095BTX
On the Yar-Craft 1785T and 2095BTX, offer as an option the Ranger 618T style electronics area with the flat top for mounting 2 HD-10's. On the 2095BTX, make the hull and cap like the 1785T. |

No thanks Jinx. The Ranger's are 95" so are most Yars and my Triton, and that is just fine by me. Wider beam usually equals rough ride and slow. I know you didn't like your 90" beam Warrior, but let's not go too far.
