Default wich map card for lake oahe lowrance hds

can anybody suggest a map card to buy for my lowrance hds to use on lake oahe thanks

The choice is easy. You will want a Lakemaster chip. Lakemaster did aerial surveying of Oahe when the lake was down a few years ago and their map chip is very accurate. Conversely I have a Navionics chip of Oahe and it is off by 20 - 30 feet now that Oahe has filled back up.

Unless you find a used chip, Lakemaster doesn't make chips for Lowrance units anymore. Lakemaster was bought by the parent company that owns Humminbird. Now their new chips are only for Humminbird units.

Lowrance is coming out with their own line of chips in a few months.

The river has not changed that much since the original survey. They did a great job of mapping back then.
