Had a great day yesterday on the ice with my wife, 28 perch and four pickeral all was well until a neighboring group brought their dog to roam free had to move our catch up on the truck box, it kept wanting to get our tip up fish, crawl in our pop up with my wife telling it to go home.
I'm no fan of strays as I was attacked by a group when I was younger, and after that strays on the farm had a shelf life on how fast I could get my rifle unlocked and loaded. With my anxiety level going through the roof and rather than cause a scene we packed up and left, and missed the magic hour. No one owns the lake but dammit folks is it not courtesy if your bringing the dog want to listen to loud music, let the little ones play on the ice to be 200 yards from everyone out of respect. Rant over. |

I agree. We had a couple a dogs running around the other day while fishing. Trying to take fish and setting tip-ips off, coming in the shack. Please if you do bring your dog put it on a leash.

I think you guys are a bit touchy. Are you cat guys or something. I always get a kick out of my ice neighbors dogs coming over to visit. When I'm sick of them I tell them to go away. No big deal. Certainly not enough to have anxiety over. If it really bothers you that bad give it a kick and send it on its way.

Giving a kick would definatley NOT be the solution. Some people care about their dogs more than their kids!!!

Point being that it's your right to deal with an uncontrolled dog especially after you ask the owner to deal with their own dog.

Frankly, the owners need the kick in the rear, not the dogs. I'm pretty sure the dogs aren't quite as high on the evolutionary ladder, as are their masters. Perhaps not, though.

It boils down to common courtesy. I wouln't let my kids come over and mess with your gear or take your fish or go in your shack. Just respect people and there space.

I agree with all, but if I'm out there fishing with my dog, and you come sit in my lap and fish, the dog is going to be there too.
Its a big lake don't need to set up right next to me and my dog. |

Why don't you read the original post again. It appears that the man was out in his spot fishing before the owner of the dog got out there and ruined the day fore him. If you cant control your pets leave them at home
