Default 1198 to 1158
waypoints came from a 1198 so same series. have tried all suggestions to no avail. after 1 hour on the phone with bird they said they know there is a glitch and will be working on the fix. they told me that I could add new waypoints it just won't load my current ones. heck of a lot of good that does me for fishing all my honey holes!! Oh well

Ducks, are the units connect vie ethernet? The 1198 and the 1158. Can't you just "share" the waypoints from the 1198?

That's how it works in my boat.

Not a bird owner, but ave you tried loading the old file to easygps and then exporting it to the new one.

Easygps is a free program for your pc that may help.

tried easygps no go.
all units are NEW ones and last years are gone.
as to sharing--interesting thought but they won;t share! Apparently they don't like eac hother!

Smile Update!!
Boy do I love WC! I started thinking about Wade's question so I went back and reloaded my waypoints onto the 958 on the bow--left that unit on and then turned on the 1158 and there they were--shared but they were there. Now Juls to your question--I added a waypoint onto the 958 and it was also on the 1158. turned the 958 off and guess what --only waypoint there was on the 1158 was the one that I added on the 958! So then I manually added one onto the 1158 and it also stayed on the unit. So now at least I know I have all my "Honey holes" available on the 1158 until HB gets a fix out for me to enable me to load my waypoints onto it!
If it wasn't so darn early I would fix myself a scotch and have one for Wade!!

Let it be known I am not the one who just notified the fishing world where the bite is for big gills on Lake Okoboji!!
