Big Pike Tip-Up Rigging

I know this is a Walleye site but I spend more time chasing Pike through the ice than Walleyes.

Anyway I'm always hunting for "The Big One" and often set at least one flag with a giant Golden Shiner or an eater size Perch to tempt the Green Meanie. The problem with big lively bait is that it'll trip a false flag constantly. My solution has been to use an OR10 OffShore Release on my tip-up to keep the meat from running away. It seems to work real well although a false flag is still possible but quite rare.

That is a great way to do that with big minnows. Thanks for sharing. Maybe I can get it in the 2012 Off Shore Release and on our web site if you don't mind.

With that clip, it looks like you can place the line in different positions in the clip, i.e. at different 'tripping tensions'. A good set-up / nice idea - ... this is why I like W.C.
