I had a fun a couple days ago. Glad I got out before all the snow we just got yesterday. And now I see we are supposed to possibly get another 6 inches or more tomorrow night. After not having any snow all winter, I suppose it will snow until July now!!! Anyway, my best bait was a small spoon tipped with a Berkley Gulp minnow fishing in 25 feet of water. Should have had my limit, but the darn thing came off! Couple weeks to go...Kevin Lee

There anywhere from 8-18 inches depending upon where your at. The thickest ice is at the far north end of the bay and it's real good from there down to Gladstone. From Gladstone south it gradually gets thinner and thinner. Just had some more ice off Escanaba blow out yesterday I guess from what I'm hearing. We should be fine though and have enough good ice to make it to the end of the season. Actually, this snow will probably help keep us from losing ice as fast as we might have since it will not get any sun now until all this fricken snow melts! Supposed to get another 6-8 inches tomorrow night too!!!
