Default Pierre,SD

Being in Wyoming, and getting anxious to fish, I'm wondering when the ice out occurs, and when one should be able to fish in the Pierre area. Thanks in advance for any reply.

Saw several boats heading west of Sioux Falls on 90 yesterday.
Reports should be forthcoming soon.

Default GO!

Always some fish to be caught at Pierre, below the dam. I miss it! If you have never been there, I'd recommend starting around the bridges by town. Fish the edges of the sandbars, which change every year. Be cautious and don't run around at WOT and you will be fine.

Got back from Pierre yesterday. Fished from the bridge in town to the ****. Averaged 30-40 fish a day. getting fish in the slot took some time. Put most back, ate 2 and brought 4 home. Used guide Brad Taylor on Monday for a half a day, his expertise was invaluable and what a great person to fish with. Fished 5 days and had a ball!

Thumbs up Pierre

Bluchaser,

There are several of us that fish together here in Pierre. Brad is one of the group. We constantly go around on who's the better fisherman. I could not pass up the chance to give him a little jab.

His comment was that I "burst his bubble"! All in good fun! Glad that you had a good trip to Pierre. The fishing this year should be the best ever!
