Had a friend who made the trip up this past Friday only to find out they had opened the **** and the river turned to mud. Probably be a few days given the recent rain, snow & wind for it to clear.

Cheers G.

The Tittabawassee River is a major tributary to the Saginaw. As you can see, recent rainfall has drastically raised the river flow rate and water level.

Some buddies went last week and pounded them. I drove down on Saturday but didin't fish. Talked to several people that said it would be atleast Thursday before the water clears up, if they don't get a bunch more rain. I am also thinking about going on Sunday.

Is there a dam that they open that increases flow of the Saginaw River? One year we came up to fish the Saginaw river and it was running like crazy, and someone told us they had opened the dam. Thanks.

The only ****s are on the Tittabawassee and the Flint, which flows into the Saginaw! You also have the Shiawassee river and the cass river that come into it also! So Lots of runoff coming in!!

If you look at the chart in the link I provided earlier, you can see the day-to-day variation in river flow caused by dam operations. Right now, we're in a big runoff event caused by high rainfall.

Just as expected. I got nothing and my buddy (could catch fish in a mud puddle) got 1.

It's fast, muddy, and the bite isn't on like it was a week ago. If I get the chance I'm headed to the lake instead.
