hey fellas,
Last season I bought a new 80lb minn kota with i pilot...Occasionally I like to use the foot pedal and the turing buttons stick on it alot. Nothing worse than trying to make a drift and the head just keep spinning and spinning... Anyone ever had this before? how do I fix it? or do i just send it in to minn kota to be fixed? I would rather not have to ship it but I dont want to tear apart the pedal to find out i have to send it in anyways... |

The generally recommended solution is to disassemble the foot pedal, completely clean the pedal parts, and then use "dry lube" when reassembling the pedal to avoid future sticking problems.
Good luck REW p.s. Another thing to check is to check the fit of any parts that your reassemble before any lube. The fit should be close, but non sticking. If any parts stick, then use fine sandpaper to enlarge the fit, but not to get a sloppy fit. After sanding, be sure to use high pressure air to blow any residue out of the parts. |
