I wish Mercury would offer a larger alternator for the pro kicker, enough to offset the power steering draw. Maybe it would be physically too large? But it would take the need for another battery out of the picture. I haven't had the low voltage issue even with running the kicker/power steering all day, but I run the largest AGMs available.

First of all if you are running anything accept an AGM battery on a Verado with PS you are not using the right battery. This is from Mercury and your dealer didn't put the right battery in your boat.
Second you should not run anything accept the Verado and the PS on that battery. You need a house battery for everything else. Simple as that. No I didn't read the whole thread I will in the morning and might have to add to this. Oh there is a TSB From Mercury on the Verado's and the AGM battery has been out since about April of 2007. |
