I am going to be isntalling my Interlink, the bow and console will each have their own GPS, so it will not be shared via the Interlink, just the way points. That being said, do I need a "Y" cable (i.e. AS YC? http://store.humminbird.com/products/323023/AS_YC) to install the units w/ their own GPS to the Interlink?
Any expirenced Interlinkers out there? (997 to 998) |

It is easier to point you to another resource instead of explaining it here.... Just search Interlink....tons of posts explaining exactly what you want to do.

Yes, use the Y cables for your GPS pucks to get the highest refresh rates. The Interlink is a bottleneck if sharing GPS data, but works well for sharing waypoint data and other accessories such as weathersense. Do not plug a GPS puck into the Interlink directly....the performance is not good and many people run in to disconnection issues.
http://postimage.org/image/7qqnf80tr/ Make sure that both of your units are on a similar generation of software. You want them both to be Version 5.21 or higher, or both to be lower....if you have one higher and one lower, you can run in to some compatibility issues. This thread really does a nice job of laying out the best setups: http://forums.sideimagingsoft.com/index.php?topic=447.0 |
