I'm looking at this place http://recstuff.com/14-Inch-Trailer-Tires.aspx
Kenda seems to be their best tire and they have my ST175/80R13 LRC for under $70. I can get a pair delivered for about $160. Looks like the size you want are about $95 |

Attached is an article in regard to trailer tires vs. auto tires. Grant it the article is wrote by a trailer tire supplier so it could be a little biased. However, it does provide a good explanation into the differences, which helps a person make a more informed decision on a tire purchase. Just my two cents: as much as I have invested in a boat, the potential of an injury and/or the liabilty, my trailer will have tires on designed for that use.

Shotgun,
Thanks for posting that link for the article on differences between a car passenger (even a radial) tire and a trailer tire - good information and a great point the author makes when he states that many folks only shop 'price" and if a tire is a "radial". My money stays on ST trailer tires. Rich B |

Yeah-h-h-h, I've had relatively good luck with Marathons and put a new set on last fall (knock wood!). I know that my last set came from China, and this set did too. Not the way I'd like for things to be, but I'll pull with my fingers crossed.

Less than 2 months old and the new Carlisle blew out on return trip yesterday. Have several long trips in and this tire goes 7 miles from home - blew the cords out of the center of the tire - - - - off to get a replacement
![]() Before you all ask: yes it was perfectly inflated (the 6 year old spare was used on the other side with no issues), yes same load that has been in the boat for past 6 years, nothing struck tire, just off highway making a turn onto a country road (slow speed), no rough stuff at place it exploded.... Tire simply exploded and I hope discount replaces for free |

I had tried Powerking Towmax STR tires last year, when my goodyear marathons were in need of replacement. 5000 miles later and 4 trips to Canada, they are still looking great and have not failed me.
