Default He 788ci DI On trolling motor

I just completed connecting my 788 DI transducer to my terrova (thanks for the instructions Jason....worked great) to the quick disconnect for the 788. In doing so I realized that in order to take the trolling motor of the boat I need to disassemble the quick disconnect to release the transucer cable. I was looking on the hd site for a short pig tale that can be run from the disconnect to the transducer cable so I can just uncouple the cable to remove the trolling motor. There was a similar cable for disconnecting the 787 from the US on the terrova. I can't find anything on the hd website. Is anyone aware of how I could do this. Sure will be a hassle taking the terrova off if there isn't.

I have that exact set-up, Terrova with i-pilot and 788ci. I just purchased a short pig tail that connects to the 788 and attaches to the ducer wire from the Terrova. No sweat the Terrova can slide right off. I guess I don't quite understand where you are having difficulty. It is impossible to connect the transducer cable from the Terrova to my 788 without this pigtail. The pigtail just unscrews from the connection from the Terrova.

The issue is that the OP is using an externally mounted Down Imaging transducer and not the US2 transducer in the Terrova.

As far as I know, there is currently no screw-together "quick connect" pigtail for the Down Imaging transducer, like there are for many different locators that access the US2.

One potential solution is to add a regular transducer extension cable. One end plugs into the unit, and the other end into the transducer cable. When you want to take the troller off, you'll disconnect the extension from the transducer cable, and then be able to remove the Terrova with externally mounted DI transducer, leaving the graph (with extension cable attached) in place.

The part you want is # EC W10. It's a 10 foot extension cable that is compatible with Di transducers (and many others). More info on this cable here:

Default Thanks for the Info

Thanks Jason. I didn't think there was a quick disconnect but really needed to make sure. Your instructions that you posted a while back for routing the transducer cable on the terrova were great. I had 4 wires to disconnect in the head of the trolling motor and the shaft came out easy. I just need to epoxy the cable in the slot and it's a done deal. Thanks
