Is this correct?? Insight vs. Basemap

Greetings All,

I just want to make sure I have this correct...

Insight...pre-loaded maps into your lowrance unit...Great Lakes and others. If so,what's covered?

Basemap... Allows you to use cards to bring up lake bottom topography for the geographic location noted on the card...

Being in Montana and not venturing out of the state much for fishing, does insight serve me?

Been thinking of a HDS-8 (maybe Gen-2) but just want to make sure I have the correct story on basemap vs. insight.

Forget Insight. The savings will more than make up the cost of a LakeMasters chip if you can find one for your state. Just stick with the base map and you'll be good to go once you get your Lake Masters chip.

I agree...the Insight in the unit leaves much to be desired.
You still need the best chip available for your area.
