How often do you change your braided fishing line? Once a year or so many trips/days of fishing?

I change mine every 3 years or so or when i notice its breaking down or fraying. One other trick i do is reverse the line. Seeing as the first line on the reel really never gets used, i take the line off my reel and put the used stuff on first around the spool. Make sense? By reversing the line you actually get more time out of it.

i change my line when it starts to fray near the ends,,
but another trick is to reel it on to another reel reversing the line so you get the unused portion off the reel first, as you never cast all the way to the bottom of the spool,, when the color starts to fade i use a colored permanent marker to put the color back on the line,, it works good and stays on there for a while,, |

Frayed ends.....just clip off 20 feet. Only change it if it ges bad. I change my line every yr but thats because I fish tourneys and don't want to take chances. If just fun fishn i would say every 3-4 yrs. use it two yrs then flip it end for end and use it another 2 yrs.

I use 80lbs tufline and 100 days of casting is fine just cut off the fray. If you see a bad spot take the time and fix it before your next cast, the lure at the end of the line is $20 or more, and a big muskie worth way more. I use alot of mono backing about 1/3 or more of my spool. This way you don't need to reverse the same old stuff you just took off.
