Default St. Croix Avid Rod Question/Selection

I have a credit for a St. Croix Avid Rod, I have a number of rods already in the 6.3 and 6.9 lengths in mediums and medium lights. Thinking of a Avid 7' but can't decide if it should be ML or M. Will use it for pitching jigs mainly and some slow trolling. The jigs typically for walleyes I use are 1/8 to 3/8 and tipped with minnows or leeches. First thoughts is the ML action in Avid, but can't get one in my hands as stores don't carry them. Any suggestions

I would consider these options.

AVS70MF would be better for light trolling applications/casting crank baits. it is also a good rigging rod

for pitching jigs in 1/8 to 3/8 range the AVS76MLXF is very slick!

Smile 7' ml hands down

I have both rods the 7'm rod is pretty stiff rod is great for snap jigging with 3/8 to 3/4oz jigheads or for trolling bottom bouncers. The 7' ml is by far a better rod I use it for pitching live bait on jigheads, casting crankbaits, tolling small crankbaits shallow, lindy rigging, slip bobbering, split shoting, and pitching plastic on jigheads. I love the st croix avid 7'ml so much i bought three more, hope this helps.

Gary,
The 7' ml makes a great live bait rod as well as a crank bait rod.

If you want to, it also works well to pitch 1/4 or 3/8th oz jigs when you need more distance or water depth.

Default The Reason I ask Is This

I purchased a 7.6" St. Croix Avid MLXF mid-winter. Have not used it till this past Thursday night when we decided to do some bobber fishing with leeches. After stringing the line through the guides I decided to set the drag. The top 8" broke with a very slight pressure being applied. I might add that the break is clean. Of course I need to send it in but thinking the 7' Avid might be a good additon to try. I do have a couple of other 7' 6" but no 7'. I am finding for my fishing the Medium actions are too stiff, anyway in the St. Croixs so thinking ML. Unfortunately the 7' is not stocked by most stores so I can't get my hands on one. So everyones thoughts is extremely valuable here. I am covered very well in 6 to 6'9" range rods.
