A few years back I bought some older fishing lures that I repainted and refinished. In the lot of 30 lures or so I had this small minnow profile lure. It had a black and purple top, silver holographic sides, and a black kill spot. The bill was sort of an odd shape, maybe a spade or tear drop? It dives 2-3 feet with tons of tight action and suspends very nicely when you let up on it. Overall length of body is similar to a Shad Rap 5, so 5 cm or so.
No markings at all on it, but this thing is killer on catching bluegills and crappies off the dock. Got snagged by a 30" pike this weekend and snapped my Fireline instantly. I was mostly upset that I lost the lure. Can anyone take a stab at a lure identification here? Thanks in advance! I also posted this on another fishing website. Based on the age of everything else in the lot I bought, I would guess it was made between 1980 and 1995. Guesses so far have been Flicker Shad, Wally Diver, Crystal Minnow, and Lindy Shadling. This is a thinner profile than most of those. For size reference, the lure just below that first pic is a Rapala Floater #9 (or knock-off it appears). I'm also attaching a second pic for size reference (see thicker Rapala Shad Rap 5 in Firetiger near top). |

I have some Storm Deep thunderstick Baby sticks that look similar.

The lure does look a lot like a Flicker Shad, but it's hard to tell. I thought maybe a Cabelas knock off, but again, all the shad lures are so similar. Fairly sure it's not any of the others you mentioned.
Is it a shad shape or more a hybrid between a shad and a stick minnow? Kind of looks like it's more of a hybrid, but it might just be the picture. |

It's more of a hybrid. I think someone on the other board may have figured it out for me. I am 95% sure it's a Daiwa 2" SC Shiner. The one I had was older and may have been a knock off or from a previous Daiwa model/generation. But the bill is the same, the size is the same, and the profile is the same.
I ordered a couple up from the "E" site. Anxious to see if they are the same. I really enjoyed the reaction strikes from those larger crappies. They were smashing it on Saturday/Sunday. |

I'd vote on it being a cordell as well, based on the underside of the lip.
