When deployed and wanting to get the motor back in the boat to run to another spot, I'm pushing down on the release, but the pin on the starboard side isn't moving. I have to reach down and pull on it then pull the head of the motor up to get it stowed for runnning.
Not a big deal until I'm in rollers and using it to help control my drift. Then I'm standing on the bow and wondering if I'm going in. ![]() Worth tearing into myself or a known problem that has to go back to the shop?

Take out the screws that hold the side plate on. (the side thats not working) The entire mechanisim will be exposed and you should be able to see why its not working.

In addition, to the previous post, really lube up all of the moving slides, pins etc. when the side plate is off of the motor.

It's all fixed up now.
The screw that goes through the metal sleeve and also holds the small side plastic piece, which then provides the pivot point for the black cradle part was loose; so the pin wasn't getting pushed out forward enough to unlock.

Eric,
To avoid future issues, it is not a bad idea to use lock tite on any of these screws on anything that you use that have come loose. http://www.loctiteproducts.com/p/t_l...r-blue-242.htm REW |
