Yes, as long as you have both (yellow/red) on a switch that will cut power, you will be fine.

One side note...there have been some complaints of the "no source" message coming up on some GEN2 units after the latest software updates (1.1.39) are installed. I believe Navico support is looking in to it.

I emailed them the other day but have not heard back from them yet. I hope this does not turn in to one of the classic poor CS from Lowrance.

I had time to look at my friends boat again and took the advice that was given to me here. I tried another port on the scan box and now it works. So I have a bad port on the scan box. Looks like a road trip to Cabelas to return it. Thanks to all for the help.
