Default Lowrance Transducer...

Have a LCX-26C HD with an hs-wsbl skimmer transducer. I think the transducer is bad because my sonar "siezes up" frequently in shallow water... very similar to a problem I had with my 334c, which was corrected with a new transducer.

Anyway... A buddy gave my his old hs-wsdx transducer. Before I start tinkering, does anyone know if the wsdx will work with my LCX-26? What exactly is the difference?

I believe the HS-WSDX transducer has a gray connector (at the head unit)
and will not work on your LCX 26c HD. You will want a transducer with a blue connector.

It does indeed have a gray connector. Thank you kindly.

If the available transducer is from an LMX-15 for example (gray connector), it should work for the sonar on your unit. The exception would be that the temperature signal on the x-15 was analog and the temperature signal on your 26C is digital - you will not get a temp reading. If it is a new or "known good" transducer, you should be able to try it to see if it fixes your problem. If it does you can get a new transducer or go without the temperature reading.

Good fishing,

Keith

First check Lowrance website for a software upgrade for your unit. I had problems at high speed that were fixed with an upgrade. It is easy to do with a card reader and extra chip.
