Gotta say, I've used yellow birds, OST, and I own Church. Why? The snaps are adjustable, the keel weight adjustments are a breeze, the rear pin to prevent pesky Lake Saint Clair musky from ripping off my boards, and lastly and most importantly, the double action flag system. I can't stand how much room a board takes up with its flag at attention, add in 20 years or "TIP UP!" and I always think I have a fish when the flags are running at attention. The church lets you run them flag down, no fish, flag up fish on.
I think some of the online tuts let you change em to a flag up operation rather than flag down. I find it to be more sensitive to bites and a whole lot easier to store in the boat. The OST's are still good though. |

I managed to adjust my tattle so the should work now. I think I just had the screws in the flag a little to tight so it was a little too hard to pull and required too much rubber band power to return them to the up position once pulled down. Should work perfect now.
If anyone is not fimilar with the DIY job I did and would like to see pictures let me know. The whole upgrade cost me about $5 per board. |
