Default $200 fishing gift for the father in-law

Looking for suggestions. I have considered a nice rod, reel, ego net. Please help.

If he is like me, he would prefer to pick out his own gear like rods and reels. Perhaps a gift certificate from his favorite sporting goods store, marina or bait shop.

Hard to know what he would want without knowing what he already has rod/reel wise. Id go gift card or get more info from him as far as what kind of setup he needs (ie. jigging, trolling, casting, spinning)

I'm pretty particular on what I want so a $200 gift card would be sweet! I also have a pretty extensive Cabelas wish list that get's forwarded to Family and Friends before my Birthday and Christmas!!

If you know what he already has and still needs, its always nice to be surprised with an actual item. I gave my FIL a nice Shimano reel for Christmas and he still gushes about it. He hasa couple beatiful custom rods but did not have any high end reels to go with them. Now he does.
