Default 2002 Evinrude 225 ficht HO no compression

I ran my 2002 Evinrude 225 ficht HO three weeks ago. I let it warm up 15 minutes, ran five miles across the lake, slowed down for a shallow stretch, went to throttle up and had very little power. Checked the plugs, all the plugs looked the same, burnt black. Headed back to the landing, checked the plugs again, plug for cyclinder 2 had no gap, pinched tight. Thought maybe i overlooked that earlier and put a new plug in to see if the motor ran better. No improvement. Checked cylender 2 plug again and it looked as if it was getting no fuel at all, it was as clean as it was out of the box. Took the boat to the dealer, he did a compression test and cylender 2 had no compression. Service tech said the motor is toast. He recomended I repower the boat because they dont do rebuilds. I had the boat 2 years only and dread the thought of a huge reinvestment. Anybody have any suggestion how I should move forward? New powerhead? new used motor? other alternatives? Is there any possibility the motor is not toast and something else could be wrong resulting in no compression?
