Default LOTW Lakemaster Chips - Humminbird

I purchased a LOTW Lakemaster chip for my new Humminbird 1198c. Took me a little while to get used to but am starting to really like it. I am used to looking at the Navionics that looks like the old navigation charts?

Does anyone know when new updated chip will be available that has: north of Big Narrows, Outer bay, Portage Bay? And if existing users will be able to have their chips updated?

Default Chip update

In speaking with the electronics expert for HB at the big C he stated that the lakemaster owners will no longer be allowed to pay a small price for the purchase of an update. It will be purchasing of a new chip. HB parent company now owns Lakemaster.

The updated chip is already out. It's v.3.0. It contains only the Big Narrows preferred channel data. No surrounding areas are done at all. Pretty disappointing considering they mention that whole area like they had it covered with a blanket. I looked at the chip at a Cabela's and that's all you get. The latest update is for the southeast portion of the lake.

Navionics is still your best bet unless you just want what's in the narrows route.

I am headed up in 12 days. I wish it had the info as i will be in exactly that spot.

Nick
