Sheephead, white bass, and white perch are in abundance everywhere though.

By the sounds of the radio yesterday, it was a slow bite all the way around. I heard the walleye were biting good in Canada though. I'm sure the perch were too, but my guests didn't have Canadian licenses.

It's kind of tough when they tell you they all fish, but when you watch them and each of them is holding a spinning rod upside down and reeling backwards, you have to ask yourself.......... LOL

Oh well.......they went home with enough for a family fish fry before we were forced off the water by a severe storm that rolled in in the afternoon.

Makes you wonder does'nt Juls !! I see ads in magazines like that sometimes. It's like WTH ?? Glad you got em into some fish though. From other site reports it sounds like they've really been getting them north of Huron. Do yopu go out that way ??

The fishing in the second half of June was not very good, although as usual there were some good days in certain locations. July has started with a bang (ha ha) as catch rates are much improved pretty much everywhere. Some hot spots are NW of West Sister Island (usual spot in July), areas out in deeper water off the reef complex, North and east of Kelleys Island, and out from Huron to Cleveland. Generally the size gets bigger as you go east. I've heard good reports from a variety of locations, so check the fishing reports on various web sites like this one and also when you arrive at the Lake.

Smallmouth fishing has just started so I haven't heard much yet. I'm a scuba diver so I've seen lots of bass in a variety of locations at a variety of times. If you are looking for a fishing partner I'd love to get out. I used to have a boat and then had buddies with boats, but now I'm high and dry. Know the Lake very well. I'd also like to do some more scuba diving underwater video, so if that is possible I'd really appreciate it (I'll find you the smallmouth).
