So Is the hd pro worth the extra $40 over the hd? Or the next best question is the hd chips or navionics....

I just received and played with the Insight HD chip last night jumping from lake to lake.
I would not recommend the HD card. It isn't worth the extra $$. The shading isn't actually that accurate...it just makes a pretty picture. On a separate nore, I talked with Lowrance at the sportshow about the 2012 chip and their standard definition lakes. They said, standard definition lakes were lakes that were mapped (did not use transferred DNR maps)..just didn't have the updated mapping that are used on the 1-3' contour lakes. I can definitey say that the lakes I reviewed that are "standard definition" are DNR maps. If I were to make this purchase again, I would have just gotten the pro chip. |
