Default Lowrance 332 Speed?

I just bought a used boat and it has a lowrance 332 graph which I am not familar with. How do I get the speed to show up on the sonar setting or split map? I have a hard time even finding the speed at all on this unit. Thanks, Aaron

You can download the manual here and the directions should be easy for you. Good luck.

You need to have a GPS signal to set ground speed. Otherwise, the check box will not even show on the 332C.

Okay thanks guys. I can get a GPS signal, but my problem is when the sonar is up I can't get the speed to show. Do I need the little paddle wheel transducer? Thanks.

Have you added an overlay for the speed, if not you need to add that to have it displayed. As long as you have a gps signal, that will give you better results than the paddle wheel.

Try this to make sure your GPS is functioning correctly...
Push the "Pages" button, press the right or left arrow until the "Map" tab is highlighted, press the down arrow to select "Digital Data" then press enter. This should give you the lake map on the main portion of the screen and navigation data on the left side of the screen. If I remember correctly, the speed is either at the top left, or the bottom left. If the speed shows in this setup, you know that the GPS is working and you can then determine how to customize the screen to your liking.

I am stil having trouble with this guys. When I go to overlay data and then select sonar data there is no box to select water speed. I want to have the sonar on with speed. Sorry as I'm struggling with this and appreciate the help.

You can get both GPS speed and water speed.
Go the menu.

You should select "ground speed" for GPS speed! This box will only show up if you have a GPS signal to the unit!!!
