Default Shipping frozen fillets out of state

I can't make buddies annual fish fry, but want to get him some bags to cook. Can I get some dry ice, wrap in news paper, box it all up and stop by UPS/Fed-X/US post office and ship over night?

I thought I read somewhere that raw fish could not be sent via these routes - had to be commercially sealed and then shipped.

You know you caught them what is the point. Leave them there are you starving. Does your family need the protein. Or is it I am a great fisherman.
Your fishing memories are your's and no one can take those away from you.
Be satisfied with what you have done, and live within the moment ! I know this is not what you asked but your buddies can do there own fishing. Let them ! Your fishing experience is your's don't let them make it how good you are but how good they are. A big fish is your experience not their's.

You can generally send any thing that you want.
But I tend to agree with the other post.

Enjoy the fish that you have caught and let your buddy have his fish fry.

Be safe

The guy just wants to know how to send fish to a friend who wants to have a fish fry.

I dont think he is asking your opinion if he should be sharing the fish he caught with friends. Maybe his buddie doesnt fish and he just wants to share his bounty with them?

I have never done it but googled it and suggestions were to vaccuum pack the fillets and pack them on dry ice. Use next ay delivery. Dry ice should lat 2-3 days.

Chad,
Actually, if you pack the fillets in a small foam cooler; the dry ice can easily last a week.

My fishing experience includes eating them sometimes.

Or maybe my eating experience includes fishing sometimes...

I have shipped filets to my Pop in Florida for his birthday and Christmas for years. I send them vacuum sealed and packed in dry ice-in a styrofoam cooler in a cardboard box-overnight mail. Rock solid when he gets them-and a happy camper to boot!!! As a matter of fact-he called me today to tell me he is using his last package-hint...hint....

WOW!! First you want the indians in Minnesota to net all the fish out of Mille Lacs. Now this guy from Michigan can`t ship some fish to his buddy. Where are you from again?? Oh ya Colorado. Wiredog
